Luke 1:2 talks of ‘servants of the Word’. The Greek word for ‘servants’ here is normally translated by the Kiswahili Biblia as ‘watumishi’ (e.g. John 18:36; Acts 26:16; 1 Cor. 4:1). Just as the apostles were servants of Christ they were also servants of the Word. This is a blog particularly for those of us in East Africa who are seeking to be watumishi wa Kristo na watumishi wa Neno. We do not want to use the Bible but to let God use us. His Word is to be the Master and we the servants both in our lives and our preaching.
This blog springs from the work of iServe Africa – a Kenyan NGO that exists to promote servant leadership and faithful biblical teaching, primarily through ministry apprenticeships. So the material here is first and foremost for the iServe community – staff, apprentices, placements, partners. However we would love to partner with others who have a similar vision of revival in the African church through an outbreak of expository (Bible-driven) preaching of Christ crucified. So please feel free to use any material here for the advancement of the kingdom of Christ and please get in touch if you would like to stand with us.

Your heart for the gospel is a massive encouragement. It keeps me focused on Jesus and His cross – thank you, brother.
Andy, I have just come across your blog. Really inspiring and well balanced.
