I’ve been hearing a call to patience recently:
- Patience in parenting (Col. 3:21)
- Patience in preaching (2 Tim. 4:2)
- Patience in theological disagreements (Phil. 3:15)
- Patience in coming to a judgement (Prov. 18:17)
- Patience in speaking (James 1:19)
- Patience in doing good (Gal. 6:9)
- Patience as the whole Christian life (1 Thess. 1:10)
But paradoxically at the same time the need for a greater impatience – about my own sin (Who will rescue me from this body of death?) and the need for Christ to come and sort out this horrible mess of a world (How long O Lord?).
What do you think?
